The PHILOSOPHICAL ASSOCIATION OF NORTHERN LUZON, Inc.
In partnership with SAN PABLO SEMINARY

15th Philosophical Association of Northern Luzon Conference
Theme: “Discourses on the Philosophy of General Education: Theories and Strategies”
Venue: San Pablo College Seminary (Baguio City)
Date: 14-15 April 2018

RATIONALE
The 15th Philosophical Association of Northern Luzon Conference, “Discourses on the Philosophy of General Education: Theories and Strategies”, reflects upon CMO No.20 Series of 2013, also known as the policy providing the framework and rationale of the revised General Education as a paradigm shift and in the context of the K-12 Curriculum based on college readiness standards. The CMO also sets the goals, outcomes, competencies, revised core courses and electives. It is the hope of this conference that the discourses will pave the way for deeper understanding and appreciation of the CMO as Higher Education Institutions await for the coming of the first graduates of the K-12 program.

The conference specifically aims to:
Intensify the awareness on the nature of the New GE Curriculum,
Engage in the discussion on the issues relative to the implementation of the New GE curriculum which is common to all college students,
Evaluate proposed techniques and strategies in the delivery of the New GE subjects,
Enhance the attainment of intellectual competencies and civic capacities,
Revisit the philosophies imbedded in the said CMO, and
Propose philosophies that hasten an education capable of infusing values, analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to think through the ethical and social implications of a given course of action, and the competency to learn continuously throughout life.
